South Tyneside March to Defend Our Hospital
March for the NHS

- Aneurin Bevan, 1948 at the establishment of the NHS.Save South Tyneside Hospital Campaign is organising its first demonstration and rally in South Shields to say no to the downgrading of our hospital, and to defend its acute and emergency services as a vital lifeline for the people of South Tyneside.
Under immediate threat is the stroke, maternity and emergency surgery services. It has already been announced that the stroke unit will be closed “temporarily” taking affect ASAP.
The demonstration will gather at the clock tower at
Haven Point
in
South Shields
at
11:30am
on
Saturday 22nd October
, we will then march to the
market square
for our rally at
12:30pm
where there will be several speakers talking about what is happening to our hospital and the NHS.
